Atherstone young persons summer reading challenge
July 10th, 2006 by Mr Booktown
Atherstone’s bookshops are teaming up with the Atherstone Library to encourage young people to read over the summer holidays with the Summer Reading Challenge.
All children who read six books borrowed from the Library between 15 July and 9 September will be entered in a draw to win book tokens which can be used at any of the Atherstone bookshops. The first prize is a token for £10 worth of books, and second prize is a £5 token.
The bookshops sponsoring the draw include Throckmorton’s Bookshop, the Sit-a-While, the Heritage Centre Bookshop, St Giles Hospice Bookshop, and the Red Lion Hotel.
The Reading Mission Summer Reading Challenge is a nationwide Reading Agency initiative supported by leading children’s publishers.
To sign up for the scheme children and their parents should go to Atherstone Library, Long Street.
